Two arrested with human parts

The Akim Oda District Police Command has arrested two men for the  possession of human parts.

The suspects who are believed to have looted graves to collect the  parts were arrested upon on a tip off at Akim Nkwanta in the Eastern region by residents, and later handed over to the police.

According to the Deputy Eastern Regional Public Relations Officer,  Sergent Gideon Boateng,  “The first suspect Kwabena Oppong was arrested with a black polythene bag suspected to be containing human skull and later mentioned one Michael Essun alias ‘one man’” as his accomplice.

Sgt  Boateng explained that  residents of Akim-Nkwantabisa became suspicious of the movement of the first suspect when he was spotted in the town and confronted him. They  then demanded to see the content of a  polythene bag he was holding and forcibly opened it  after they suspected foul play.  He was subsequently  handed over to the Police where he mentioned Essun as the one who contracted him to supply him the skull.

Meanwhile, one other accomplice Danbuga is on the run while the two are being arraigned before court.

The Deputy Regional Police PRO advised the general public to be vigilant and provide timely and accurate information to the police in order to help apprehend  suspicious characters.
