Irate supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Mpohor District of the Western region have issued a stern warning to President Akufo-Addo to appoint no other person than their former constituency chairman George Bernard Eshun as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area.

The supporters who were clad in red armbands said information available to them suggest that President Akufo-Addo has settled on another aspirant by name  Assah Mensah.

The disenchanted party supporters led by the Mpohor Youth Organizer, Mathew Ekow Assan, a representative of the Mpohor Omanhene, Nana Kofi Ampim and Mbrentsehen of the town, Abusuapanyin Kweku Amoako  said the President should  rescind his decision or face dire consequences.

“We have really suffered for the NPP here at Mpohor and after giving all the post to other candidates from the other side you want to deny us of the only post left….We will not allow it,  if we hear any name other than  George Bernard Eshun  as the DCE for Mpohor then they should come and take their office from here, they can’t operate from Mpohor, it won’t happen”.

According to the party supporters,  Mr.  Eshun is the best person to occupy the seat. They claim all appointments made by the President in the district so far have gone to the Fiase section of the district and it is only fair that the only remaining position comes to Mpohor.
