Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has indicated that she will work hard to ensure the smooth operation of 4G network by Vodafone.

She said this during a working visit to the headquarters of the telecom giant to familiarize herself with the operations of the company.

Addressing management and the media after a closed door meeting, Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful commended Vodafone for creating a respected brand and transforming the company into the largest telecommunications operating company in Ghana.

“We will assist you and we are committed in doing that. I am impressed with what you have done so far and the vision you have for the future. I am committed to do what I can as a minister to assist you to improve profitability and grow the business to serve your customers,” she said.

Touching on fiber cuts, the sector minister said her ministry was working to make it a high risk activity to prevent people from engaging in the illegal act.

She was happy that Vodafone’s leadership team was being led by a woman.

CEO of Vodafone Ghana, Ms. Yolanda Cuba, expressed appreciation to the minister for the visit to the headquarters.

Ms. Yolanda Cuba added that Vodafone has invested greatly in infrastructure and capacity building as part of its commitment to improving network quality and delivering an unmatched customer experience.

“For us, once Ghana becomes the digital hub of Africa, then we will have achieved our goals. We will not rest until we do that. We will continue to invest in technology and people,” she added.
