Water supply has seen a major boost in the Ashanti Region with the commissioning of some boreholes by The Royal Bank Foundation on Friday.

The Royal Bank Foundation through its corporate social responsibility has constructed three out of many water boreholes for the T.I Ahmaddiyya Senior High School at Adanse Fomena, the Bonwire Senior High Technical School and the Kaase community.

The goal of the award winning indigenous bank is to construct 60 boreholes across the country yearly for communities and institutions that do not have access to potable water.

Board Chairman of the Board of Trustees at The Royal Bank Foundation, Faustel Asogba Coffie told Ultimate Business at the commissioning, that his outfit received several requests by these institutions and hence attended to their call.

“It all started when a request was put in, we were informed that this school needed water very urgently because of the school population and where they were getting water.

“On behalf of the Dr Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu Foundation, we are here to commission this borehole which we have provided through funds provided by The Royal Bank.

“I am hopeful this will make a great impact and that is our dream and that of the founder because his upbeat is to make sure that you do not wait for people sick before you get them healed”, Mr. Asogba Cofie added.

He also appealed to the beneficiaries of the boreholes to maintain the facility in order to prolong its use.

On her part, headmistress of the T.I Ahmaddiyya Senior High School, Zainab Adams was full of praise for the intervention by The Royal Bank Foundation.

According to her, the borehole was going to hugely support the over 800 boarders and staff who cannot access water through their mechanized boreholes due to unstable electricity.

Similar commissioning was done at the Bonwire Senior High Technical School and the Kaase community.
