Black Starlets players collapse in Tanzania friendly

Four players of the Black Starlets on Monday collapsed during a friendly game with Tanzania in Dar es Salam.

The four players collapsed during the second half of the game as the junior national team could not cope with the high temperature in the Tanzania capital. The four were immediately taken off and replaced by Coach Paa Kwesi Fabien.

The friendly game was to prepare the Black Starlets for the upcoming Total U-17 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Gabon.

The Starlets despite the high temperature in Tanzania managed a 2-2 draw with their counterparts.

Ghana scored their first goal in the 21st minute through Ibrahim Sulley in the first half with the Ghanaian youngsters wasting glorious opportunities to end the first department 1-0.

With just 17 minutes to end proceedings,  Ghana made it two from an Arko Mensah Strike.

In the dying embers of the game, the Serengeti Boys pulled one back through Assad Juma with an excellent spot kick equalizer by Mushin Malima to end the friendly on a 2-2 note.

The competition is scheduled for May 14 to May 21. Ghana is in Group A alongside hosts Gabon, Cameroon and Guinea.

Tanzania is in Group B along with Mali, Niger and Angola.
