Black Stars striker Kwesi Appiah has joined Norwegian club Viking FK on loan until the end of June.

The striker, who has played 10 times for the Eagles since signing from Margate back in 2010, joins up with the Tippeligaen side whose league campaign kicks-off next month under new manager Ian Burchnall.

Appiah, 26, hasn’t featured for the Palace first-team since August 2013 but has won six caps for Ghana whom he represented in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

After a short loan spell at Reading towards the end of the 2015/16 campaign, a knee injury sustained the following pre-season saw him miss the entirety of last campaign as he worked his way back to full fitness.

The striker has also had loan spells at Aldershot Town, Cambridge United, Notts County and AFC Wimbledon during his time with Palace, and is able to complete his move to Viking, where former teammate Brede Hangeland started his career, as the Norwegian transfer window closes at the end of this month.

Appiah previously spent some time training with the club in La Mang earlier this month, getting to know his teammates ahead of their season opener against Valerenga on Monday.
