BoG Governor Issahaku resigns

The governor of the Bank of Ghana Dr Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku has resigned, sources at the Central Bank have revealed to Starrfmonline.com.

Dr. Issahaku, who was appointed on April 04, 2016 by former President John Mahama, has been at post for 11 months.

Reasons for his resignation are not clear, however, sources say the International Development Economist with several years of experience in economic policy management and development, is backing out due to the change of government.

The 55-year-old, until his appointment, was a Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana. He replaced Dr. Kofi Wampah.

He worked with the World Bank as a Senior Public Sector Specialist; the African Development Bank (ADB) as a Principal Governance Expert and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa as a Development Management Officer.

Also, Dr. Issahaku was a Socio-Economic Advisor and Project Coordinator for the Canadian International Development Agency as well as working as a Senior Planning Analyst with Ghana National Development Planning Commission.

Dr. Issahaku is married and has four children.
