Former Ghanaian long jumper, Ignatius Gaisah insists he naturalized for the Netherlands at his own will and had nothing to do with ousted GOC boss Francis Dodoo.

Gaisah was rumored to have switched nationality to compete for the Netherlands in 2013 due to unfair treatment by the former Olympian during his reign, but Ghana’s first and only World Athletes Championship silver medalist says he wanted to make profit from the discipline to survive his family.

“I wanted to get food to eat and live well. It is an individual event and I had no problem with anybody but it was my personal decision. I never had any problem with Professor Dodoo and don’t forget he is still in charge of athletics but it is my life”, he told Starr Sports.

The 33-year old currently lives, trains in Rotterdam and last year he picked the bronze medal in the European Championship.
