NDC will bounce back – Mahama

Former president John Mahama is of the strong conviction that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will “bounce back”.

The NDC is the largest opposition party in Ghana after ruling for eight years, making way for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the 2016 elections.

Mahama lost miserably to President Akufo-Addo, obtaining 44% of votes cast while the latter garnered 53% to render the former the first sitting president under the Fourth Republic to have lost an election.

The NDC is going through rebuilding process with a 13-member Kwesi Botchwey led committee going round the country assessing the causes of the party’s defeat.

The committee came under attack in the Eastern region on Thursday in the hands of some disgruntled NDC supporters.
