Officials of WBC handing the president the award
Ghana’s President, Akufo Addo’s special interest in sports has attracted the attention of renowned boxing outfit-World Boxing Council (WBC).
As a result, WBC has given the president a special award for his involvement in sports from his school days till date.
On Saturday night, a high powered delegation from WBC, led by its Vice President Houcine Houichi presented the prestigious title to Nana Addo during the ‘Freedom Fight Night’ at the Bokum Boxing Arena, in Accra.
Also present on the evening that saw three Ghanaian boxers- Richard Commey, Duke Mickah and Fredrick Lawson winning their respective WBC bouts were ex-President Jerry John Rawlings, Zenator Rawlings, MP for Korle Klottey, Minister of Youth and Sports Isaac Asiamah and Ambassador Ray Quarcoo, Goodwill Sports ambassador.
