Heritage Bank Limited has contributed its quota as corporate institutions have done in support of government in the Ghana@60 anniversary celebrations.

The wholly-owned Ghanaian bank donated GHC50,000 to the Ghana@60 committee to support the Diamond Jubilee activities expected to run throughout the year.

This is in response to the President’s call for the private sector to help raise funds towards the year-long activities. Some of the activities include the construction of libraries across the 10 regions, a Heads of State Museum and an Entrepreneurship challenge among others.

The President made the appeal to corporate Ghana during the launch of the National Planning Committee in January.

According to Heritage Bank, its decision to support the national cause reaffirms its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR) towards developing the economy.

Speaking at the presentation, the Managing Director of the bank, Patrick Edwin Fiscian said “Heritage Bank Limited being a proud indigenous bank, is very passionate about contributing to the advancement of the Ghanaian society, particularly that of our future leaders.

“As part of the bank’s CSR agenda we will be embarking on projects that focus on entrepreneurship and the environment”.

The Chairman of the Ghana@60 Planning Committee, Ken Amankwah, Deputy Chief of Staff and Vice Chairman of the Committee, Abu Jinapor, received the contribution. They commended the bank for its generosity and patriotism.

Heritage Bank Limited officially launched its operations as the 34th universal bank in February 2017 by opening its first ultra-modern branch at the Airport City in Accra.

The Board Chairman, Professor Kwesi Botchwey in his address, emphasised the bank’s commitment to create custom-made financial services.
