Former Black Stars coach Avram Grant says Ghana Football Association should invest more in policies and direction of the Black Stars.

Grant, 61, parted ways with the football association in February, following the expiration of his contract. The Israeli wants the football association to take a clue from 2014 Fifa World Cup champions Germany.

“With these great talents in Ghana, they deserve a better treatment in the highest level today because they have the talents. Even with the local teams, they are blessed with talents” Grant told BBC.

“The key subject is about direction and policies and Ghana need to continue with the process that they have started with. The football association needs to improve on the part.

“Germany is a typical example and in 2014, they won the World Cup because they paid much attention to policies and directions from the scratch,” he added.

Grant was asked if he believes a foreign coach should be named as his successor and he said: “The Black Stars need help from outsiders, but I think there are also some people in the country who can also take up the job,” he said.

Ghana FA is expected to announce Grant’s successor in a fortnight after setting up a six-member committee.
