Reasons Men Must Sleep Unclad

Except when they want to have s*x, some men don’t think that it’s beneficial to sleep without wearing pants or boxer shorts.

Yet, scientists are saying that there are inherent health advantages when men sleep unclad from the waist down!

What are these advantages? Read on!

You’ll protect your testicles. Researchers warn that sleeping in your underwear increases the odds that you’ll get an infection in the worst possible place. According to a urologist, Dr. Brian Steixner, the drawers we keep our underwear in generates heat and moisture, making bacteria to thrive, even on our clothing materials! When you have your pants or boxer shorts on overnight, any chaffed or irritated skin down there can become infected. Steixner therefore counsels men to stop wearing underwear to bed. “This will keep your private part cleaner, drier, and healthier,” he says.

You’ll nurture your sperm: The scrotum needs to be just the right temperature in order to optimise sperm production, says Dr. Steixner. The ideal temperature is just slightly cooler than the rest of your body. When your testicles are too warm, your sperm quality suffers, according to a Finnish study that tested the semen of men who used saunas. Even tight underwear can be enough to raise your scrotum’s temperature above the optimum level, Dr. Steixner says. So, for the sake of your private part health, consider sleeping unclad!

You’ll get closer to your partner: Swedish researchers say skin-to-skin contact with another person triggers the release of the hormone oxytocin in the brain. The chemical reduces stress, makes you feel more connected to your partner, and increases your s*x drive, the scientists say. Obviously, brushing up against each other unclad in bed often leads to good things!

The bottom line: It’s all about your private parts. Be wise!
