Accra Hearts of Oak will host Medeama at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in match week 2 of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season.

Hearts go into the game on the back of a disappointing performance but worthy one point gained in the goalless draw match against regional rivals, Inter Allies. Medeama SC meanwhile narrowly defeated West African Football Academy (WAFA) 1-0 at the Tarkwa and Aboso park through a goal from forward, Bernard Ofori.

Midfielder, Kwes Donsu superb strike gave the Mauve-and-Yellow victory over the Phobians when the two last met at the Accra Sports Stadium in a game, Hearts were billed to win and keep their faint hope of a title push.

A total of 38 goals have been scored in this fixture with Medeama leading the way with 20 goals against Hearts’ 18.

Team News:

Hearts of Oak new coach Frank Elliott Nuttall is expected to be on the bench should he be granted a working permit certificate on time. Captain Robin Gnagne and striker Bright Luqman are injury doubts for the game after picking up groin and ankle knocks respectively.
