The man in charge of the Blues’ commercial operations during a hugely successful period for the club is to leave his role after just two years
Chelsea have announced that managing director Christian Purslow is to leave his post.
Purslow, who previously filled a similar role at Liverpool, is walking away after a little over two years in the position.
During that time he has overseen commercial operations during a hugely successful period for the Blues.

Purslow was part of the negotiations that saw Chelsea lad a £60 million-a-year kit deal with Nike that is due to start in 2017-18 and a £40m-a-year sponsorship agreement with Yokohama.
He is, however, set to move on after seeing out the remainder of the season at Stamford Bridge.
Chairman Bruce Buck said in a statement released on the club’s official website: “Christian joined us in 2014 with the goal of transforming our commercial activities.
“Under his leadership some of the world’s finest brands and companies have joined us and we have announced some record-breaking sponsorships.
“Christian will continue to work with the club in a transition period until the end of the season.
“We are very grateful for his contribution and he will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge.”

Purslow added: “I am proud of what we have all achieved, with Chelsea now enjoying great success off the field as well as on it and a commercial team in place to help cement Chelsea’s position at the top of the game.”
The 53-year-old businessman was managing director at Liverpool between June 2009 and October 2010.
He also took on a non-executive director and special advisor role at Anfield before severing all ties with the Reds in February 2011.
