National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sidii Abubakari Musah has disclosed he still has sleepless nights after flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo was sworn-in as president.

He is convinced under an Akufo-Addo presidency, members of the NDC will have no peace in the country.

Sidii Abubakari was reacting to the seizure of vehicles from members of the NDC and some appointees of the erstwhile Mahama government by some NPP activist led by its Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer, Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye DC.

Notably among them are NDC National Organizer, Kofi Adams and former presidential staffer, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah following government’s claim that about 200 state vehicles are missing.

Mr. Adams is currently being interrogated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service over the fleet of vehicles retrieved from his residence in Tema.

According to sources, the documents Kofi Adams had brought were ‘insufficient’ to cover the five vehicles which were still in the custody of the police at the CID Headquarters.

But Sidii Abubakari on Accra-based Neat FM said he is not surprised at the witch-hunt under the Akufo-Addo led government.

“I cannot sleep and my members cannot sleep, and we were warned that, hey! If you vote for Akufo Addo you can’t sleep…” he stated.

He could not fathom why NPP activists are going from house to house to illegally collecting cars from government appointees.

“Who gave the proud small boy [Abronye DC] the power to lead National Security and police force to Kofi Adam’s house, if not President Nana Akufo-Addo” he bemoaned.

This notwithstanding, the NDC Youth leader said they are more than prepared to meet the NPP boot-for-boot if they continue to harass their members.

“We can’t live in violence and fold our arms. Enough is enough.

We have formed a vigilante group to make sure we protect ourselves. The police aren’t protecting us. We know the NPP want to intimidate us but we will do everything possible to protect ourselves to remain solid…” he said.

“Nana Addo will be the worst president Ghana has ever had, mark it on the wall…” he maintained.
