Their complaints and utmost concern is that the reality TV show is causing nuisance in their country. This was stated by some of the residents and restaurants around 4th Avenue close, where the BBN production house is located.

They complained that the house generates lots of controversies and is a major source of noise pollution in the area.

The Ward Councilor, Nicole van Dyk, while confirming the complaints lodged, told Channel 24 that the complaints are manageable. He said:

“There have been complaints but the number has not been overwhelming. Big Brother definitely has made an effort to quiet down their studios and the house itself. In total, I’ve received 4 complaints since it began.”

In response to the complaints, M-net says it is aware of the recent noise concerns raised by residents and business owners near the Big Brother house. The media company assured that the complaints will be dealt with in no time.

The producers said:

“Please be assured that the producers, Endemol Shine Africa, have already taken steps to reduce the noise levels so that both the residents, surrounding businesses and the Big Brother production can continue to reside and work amicably alongside each other.”

Meanwhile, Sunday 5th February was emotional for the housemates as the first eviction took place. Last week, three housemates; Somadina, Miyonse, and raunchy Miss Gifty were nominated for possible eviction this past weekend.

However, Gifty luckily escaped the eviction panel as her name was replaced with Efe’s on the nomination list by the then Head-of-House, Igwe Cocoice.
