Former Berekum Chelsea Captain Abdul Basit has joined Portuguese side Maritimo on a three-year deal.The 26-year-old joined Maritimo from FC Stumbras in Lithuania a club which was coached by former Black Stars Coach Mariano Barreto.

Maritimo, who are seventh in the Portuguese Premier League, today announced the hiring of the Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Basit, who joins the club on the last day of the reopening of the transfer market.

The 26-year-old joined from FC Stumbras, Lithuania, a club which was run by former coach Mariano Barreto.

Abdul Basit who was being chased by AS Monaco has also played for Heart of Lions Al Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, Free State Stars South Africans, MyPa Finns and Sweden’s Gefle IF.
