Meet 22-Yr Old Nigerian Contestant For Miss Universe 2017

As the quest for Miss Universe comes to an end, BuzzNigeria explores the outcome – Which country that took the crown home? Who represented what country? and who is the very most beautiful girl in Nigeria? The answer to the latest is, Unoaku Anyadike, represented Nigeria in the most exotic elegance, style and beauty.

The flamboyant competition which ended on Sunday, January 29, featured a total of 86 of the most beautiful and talented women in the world — ranging in age from 18 to 27 years old — and Miss France, Iris Mittenaere emerged the winner.

The 65th Edition of Miss Universe Competition was aired live from Manila, Philippines on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT on FOX and was hosted once again by Steve Harvey, despite his flop in the 2015 Miss Universe grande finale.

The 24-year-old model expressed shock as she was named the new Miss Universe 2017, marking the first European Miss Universe since 1990. Mittenaere cried tears of joy as she was given her sash and bouquet, received the coveted crown from outgoing Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach, who represented the Philippines when she won the title last year.

Miss Haiti Raquel Pelissier, who enthusiastically hugged Mittenaere after she won, was the first runner-up, while Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar came in as this year’s second runner-up.

Nigeria’s most beautiful girl 2015, Miss Unoaku Anyadike who was conferred a chieftaincy title as Ugonna 1 of Ekwulobia by Igwe Emmanuel Oyeneke Ezejiofor II of Ekwulobia in Anambra state – her home town, was not able to come anywhere closer to the top 13 finalists at the Miss Universe beauty pageant, but she represented the beauty of Nigeria; the cultural diversity, the people and the nations values.

The beauty queen, Unoaku Anyadike who was born on September 16, 1994, emerged as Miss Nigeria from a keenly contested Silverbird Group organized competition that held in Bayelsa on Saturday night, October 24, 2015. She graduated from the University of Ibadan where she studied Psychology, and is currently completing the mandatory National Youth Service, NYSC, in Lagos.

She had also had the privilege of exploring beautiful places and meeting prominent leaders. Ahead of the final beauty competition on Sunday, January 30, Unoaku and her fellow contestants paid a courtesy visit to the president of Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Besides meeting President Rodrigo Duterte of Philippines, she also paid a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, The Ooni of Ile- Ife.

In the National Costume portion of the event, the women donned creative, elaborate and patriotic attires that they believe best represented their home countries.

The qualities which seem to embody the 65th Miss Universe 2017 included, beauty, grace, confidence and intelligence. New Miss Universe, Iris Mittenaere from France was found worthy to take home the crown.
