The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has described as “irresistible” the evidence of an “untoward” circumstances in the scandal that has rocked parliament.

According to him, events so far give him the indication that “something really happened” and that the claim of bribery by the Bawku Central MP is not baseless.

The Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga has alleged that attempts were made to bribe members of the minority caucus on the appointments committee with GHC3000 each to pass the then Energy minister-designate Boakye Agyarko, following his vetting.

He claimed the money was given to the minority chief whip Muntaka Mubarak to share for the minority, a claim that has been refuted by the Asawase MP.

But speaking to Nii Arday Clegg on the Morning Starr Tuesday, the former roads minister said an investigation by non-parliamentarians can help resolve the matter.

“The circumstantial evidence is irresistible. After my interaction with him I was so convinced that something untoward had happened,” he said.

He added: “An independent, impartial body should investigate the matter. Members of the Public who are qualified should be allowed to investigate the matter. Parliament can do this but, not by its own members”.
