The ongoing feud between Harrysong and his former record label, Five Star Music is getting more complicated.
The record label claims that they lost millions of Naira on Harrysong, in other words saying he was a bad investment. Although Five Star Music did not meet up with releasing 3-albums for the artiste as stated in his contract, he still managed to get quite popular with hits like Reggae Blues”, “Aka Gum” and “BetaPikin.”

Recall that Harrysong was reported to leave Five Star Music in November 2016, two months earlier than the elapse of his 3-years contract, which was not due until the end of January 2017. He also announced the launch of his own label, branded ‘Alterplate’ last year.
This breach of contract warranted an arrest of the artiste, whose new management claims that the contract as captured in Five Star’s petition is a civil and not a criminal case.
Five Star Music, which is owned by E-Money and led by ‘Limpopo’ singer Kcee, released a statement revealing the monetary involvements they had with Harrysong. They highlighted that in all the transactions, Harrysong didn’t contribute a dime into his career.
“Our move to do things right and professionally with Mr. Harry earned us a Twenty Million Naira (N20,000,000.00) legal suit from Mr. Kevin Luciano of Question Mark Entertainment (Harry’s former label). We were joined as co-defendants with Mr. Harry,” the statement read.
“N5m was paid to settle the lawsuit, out of which Harrysong didn’t contribute a dime. Knowing the vulnerability of Mr. Harry on the impending legal suit, we solicited the help of certain well-respected individuals in the music industry to wade into the matter, one of which was our dear veteran Daddy Showkey.
“Mr. Luciano having found out our intention from inception to act in good faith, agreed to withdraw his suit against Mr. Harry and our company BUT, not without consequential and settlement fees of Five Million Naira (N5, 000,000.00).”
Aside being the sole sponsor of Harrysong’s music careers, Five Star Music bought him a 2014 Toyota Camry and a brand new Hummer Jeep during his time at the label. The label also claimed that they gave Harrysong in full all his performance fee because they saw him as family.

It seems like the habit of Nigerian artistes’ quitting their label on a sorry note just to start-up theirs is becoming a rising trend. We hope this move is the right step for Mr. Songz, as he is fondly called.
