Hundreds of people gathered at airports in cities in the U.S to protest what has quickly become a controversial immigration ban by the Donald Trump administration.
The U.S announced a temporary 90-day ban to citizens of seven countries; Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen, a move which was interpreted as a ‘Muslim ban’. The U.S refugee program was also suspended for 120 days and the policy immediately affected the traveling plans of people holding dual nationalities and are also subject to the ban.
Several airports were overrun with protesters and in New York, hundreds met in Cadman Plaza where organisers shared free pizza with demonstrators.
