Hearts of Oak’s defensive pillar Vincent Atinga, is clamouring for support from fans of the club as the team gears up towards the new League season.
Atinga who joined the Phobians from Ebusua Dwarfs three seasons ago says, he is working to improve on his performance ahead of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League.
The player who has been involved in the team’s preseason exercise has already set a target to win the best defender gong next season.
“I want to perform well and if God permit, I will get the best defender whiles winning the league with my club,” he told Sports 24.
“The team’s performance today wasn’t bad. We’re still preparing for the league and I can say we ‘re hundred percent ready.
When asked about the chances of the club winning the ultimate, the former Unistar Academy guardsman said, ‘’we haven’t started the league yet, when we get to the bridge we would cross it’’.
He went ahead admonishing the fans to throw their weight behind the Club.
‘What I will tell them is to rally behind us when the going gets tough, they should still follow and pray for us.”
The stalwart center back played a crucial role in helping the team to the finals of the GHALCA G6 competition.
