Being sexually healthy begins with understanding your body, and a lot of us know far too little about what\u2019s going on downstairs. Sure, we know where babies come from. We also know how to have\u00a0s*x, and how to give and receive pleasure. Hopefully, that much is true.<\/p>\n

But beyond that, there\u2019s a whole lot going on inside us that remains a mystery. There\u2019s a whole lot we should know, this stuff is important, and can make a big difference in how you live your life and know your own body.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

1. Your v**ina becomes thinner after menopause.<\/p>\n

This change can be a cause for pain with intercourse.<\/p>\n

2. Your\u00a0v**ina is colonized with \u201cgood\u201d and \u201cbad\u201d bacteria.<\/p>\n

A \u201cnormal\u201d v**ina will ordinarily be colonized by more \u201cgood\u201d than \u201cbad\u201d bacteria, and this can be estimated by the\u00a0whether or not the v**ina is acidic or basic. Remember: the v**ina is a self-cleaning oven.\u00a0Douching\u00a0can promote the wrong bacteria.\u00a0Urinary tract infection\u00a0risk also appears to relate to the kind of bacteria colonized in the v**ina.<\/p>\n

3. Your v**ina can fall out.<\/p>\n

It\u00a0is\u00a0true the v**ina can lose support over time and even manage to fall outside of the hymen\u00a0(a condition known as\u00a0pelvic organ prolapse).<\/p>\n

4. Your v**ina and your\u00a0vulva are NOT\u00a0the same things.<\/p>\n

The v**ina is the fibromuscular tube that extends\u00a0from the hymen\u00a0to the cervix. The vulva is encompassed all the parts outside of the hymen to include the labia,\u00a0cli**ris, etc.<\/p>\n

5. The G-spot definitely exists.<\/p>\n

The G-spot feels like a walnut and is\u00a0located just inside of the v**ina\u00a0on the anterior wall. It\u2019s there.<\/p>\n

6. Your v**ina can expand up to 200 percent (!!!!) during s*x.<\/p>\n

The v**ina has muscular ridges called\u00a0rugae\u00a0inside of it. These ridges expand (just like a\u00a0man-hood) during s*x up to 200 percent.<\/p>\n

7. Your\u00a0v**ina needs exercise.<\/p>\n

The more you exercise her, the better she works. Kegels\u00a0\u2014\u00a0clenching and releasing\u00a0\u2014makes your v**ina strong.<\/p>\n

8. Vaginas come in all shapes and sizes.<\/p>\n

All vaginas are NOT made equally. Some are deep; some are shallow. Even the vulva can be different.<\/p>\n

9. You can \u201ctrain\u201d your v**ina to go back to normal after childbirth.<\/p>\n

10. NEVER rush your v**ina into\u00a0having s*x after having a baby.<\/p>\n

If you have s*x before it\u2019s time, you may rip your stitches or put yourself at risk of infection. You also should wait for your doctor\u2019s permission after a C-section. A\u00a0C-section is a major surgery; your body needs time to heal from that too<\/p>\n
