A cross-section of participants at the confab<\/strong><\/p>\nChief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stratcomm Africa, has called on leaders in the country to as a matter of necessity strive to build a good leadership brand for themselves and resist the temptation of lording over their followers.<\/p>\n
Ms. Esther Cobbah was speaking on Wednesday at the ongoing Jospong\/Zoomlion Group 2016 Leadership Conference being held at the Pentecost Convention Centre at the Millennium City located off the Kasoa-Nyanyanu road in the Central Region.<\/p>\n
The annual event seeks to bring together all 40 plus subsidiaries of the Jospong\/Zoomlion Group to re-affirm their commitment in ensuring excellent service delivery aimed at enabling the Group achieve its vision of becoming the most successful African Holding Company, leading in every sector it operates in.<\/p>\n
According to Ms. Cobbah who was speaking under the theme:\u201dEstablishing And Maintaining Your Leadership Brand,\u201d it is important for leaders to understand that they are occupying their positions to serve and not to be served as it\u2019s the case in the Ghanaian society.\u201d<\/p>\n
The seasoned communicator argued that \u201cgreat leaders have as their focus providing service to those they lead, not lording it over them.\u201d<\/p>\n

She opined that \u201cit is very easy to think of leadership in terms of power and position but there is no doubt in my mind that the power to lead can only come from a commitment to serve.\u201d<\/p>\n
Leaders, according to the communication expert, must make conscious efforts at all times to understand the needs of their people in order to be appreciated.<\/p>\n
The commitment to serve, she went on, \u201calso involves having a sense of urgency about finding solutions for the unacceptable situations that confront many people in our countries,\u201d adding that there is the need to maintain a good leadership brand; developed over time.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Executive Chairman of the Jospong\/Zoomlion Group of Companies, Dr. Joseph Siaw-Agyepong indicated that the confab was part of efforts aimed at helping his Group improve upon its fortunes and enable it achieve its vision of becoming the leading African Holding Company in the near future.<\/p>\n
