{"id":315016,"date":"2016-01-13T19:26:47","date_gmt":"2016-01-13T19:26:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/businesses-must-form-alliance-horsi\/"},"modified":"2016-01-13T19:26:47","modified_gmt":"2016-01-13T19:26:47","slug":"businesses-must-form-alliance-horsi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2016\/01\/13\/businesses-must-form-alliance-horsi\/","title":{"rendered":"Businesses Must Form Alliance \u2013 Horsi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"content-area\" readability=\"82\">\n<div class=\"post-image\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"400\" src=\"http:\/\/dailyguideafrica.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Senyo-Hosi-620x400.jpg?3d6053\" class=\"attachment-post-thumb wp-post-image\" alt=\"Senyo Hosi\"\/><\/div>\n<p><!--post-image--><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t    <!-- Easy Plugin for AdSense V8.60 --><!-- [leadin: 0 urCount: 0 urMax: 0] --><br \/>\n<!-- Easy Plugin for AdSense V8.60 --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Senyo Hosi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Senyo Hosi, Chief Executive of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributing Companies (CBDCs), has called on businesses to form strong alliances to be productive and efficient.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the challenges faced in 2015 should prompt businesses to re-position themselves in 2016 to achieve success.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Hosi, who made this known in an interview with <strong><em>BUSINES GUIDE<\/em><\/strong> said, \u201cBusinesses have to consolidate, acquisitions have to be made, while strong alliances have to be formed to get people to be productive and efficient.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is what Ghanaian businesses and entrepreneurs have to think about.<\/p>\n<p>Businesses in Ghana last year faced a lot of challenges while others sacked workers.<\/p>\n<p>This was as a result of load shedding exercise, high inflation, depreciation of cedi against major foreign currencies and increased taxes, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Touching on prospects for the petroleum industry in 2016, Mr. Hosi said the prospect for the industry this year is bright but it will all depend on how the industry re-positions itself and what policy actions the government takes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all need to be more efficient and competitive. We can\u2019t continue to do things in the old way.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Easy Plugin for AdSense V8.60 --><br \/>\n<!-- [midtext: 1 urCount: 1 urMax: 0] --><\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Easy Plugin for AdSense V8.60 --><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn increase sense of responsibility must be attained within the petroleum industry to be competitive and efficient. You can\u2019t compete too much in little fractions\u2026you will not be competitive,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Private Sector<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mr Hosi said the private sector should be encouraged to operate and compete effectively, stating that government should not be seen as an active player and at the same time a regulator and consumer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that the economy will best thrive if we harness the potential of the private sector. There should be equal platform for everyone to do business,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Hosi said, \u201cIt will only take Ghanaians to turn this economy around and to prosper.
