The Narcotics Control Board (NACOB), is in a meeting over the alleged assault of a Nigerien suspect at the premises of the High Court in Accra on Wednesday.
The suspect, Halidu Moro, was first arrested at the Kotoka International Airport with $400,000 he was traveling with.
The money was seized by the state, forcing Moro to file a suit challenging the seizure of his money.
His application was granted and the court ordered the state to release his money back to him.
Some officials of NACOB however arrested him outside the court after the ruling, and allegedly subjected him to severe beatings.
The intervention of his lawyer, Afenyo Markin, and some family members, was not enough to stop the assault.
Sources at NACOB have told Citi News that the meeting will also discuss the reported arrest of some British and Ghanaians allegedly involved in a drug deal.
The Daily Telegraph last Monday reported that security personnel in the UK had arrested the suspects for exporting eight million pounds worth of cocaine from Ghana.
