Newly-appointed head coach of International Allies FC, Prince Yaw Owusu, says he will work hard to turn the fortunes of the club around in the upcoming season, expressing appreciation to management of the side for reposing confidence in him.

The former Medeama SC coach, who signed a one year contract with the Tema-based club last Monday, said his employers had tasked him to guide the team to finish in an appreciable position on the 2016/2017 league log and that he had promised to deliver.

In a telephone conversation with the Graphic Sports yesterday, Coach Owusu said “I am excited about this new development and I am going to do everything within my power to meet their expectations. I know that Inter Allies are a very good side and I know what they can do so I am happy they gave me this offer”.

“Inter Allies finished in the 12th position last year which was not good enough so they have asked me to help the team finish in the top four and I believe that is achievable”, he added.

On recruitment, Coach Owusu, who refused to disclose his financial entitlements at his new club, said he intended to turn Inter Allies into a talent hub, where players would be polished with excellent ones marketed abroad to help management generate revenue for the successful running of the club.

“My priority as the coach of the club is to recruit a few players in addition to what we already have, polish them up and find agents to buy those who will excel in their departments”, he noted.

The former Kartoum FC assistant coach called on the teeming fans of the club to offer him their full support to enable him deliver on his promises.

He is expected to meet the team on Monday for familiarisation and to start preparations towards the upcoming season.
