Funeral rites for the late hiplife artiste and rapper, Omanhene Pozo known in real life as Emmanuel Amponsah comes off today at the WASS park, Adenta Old Barrier, Accra.

There will be a thanksgiving service on Sunday, October 30, at Touch of Faith Ministry, Adenta Barrier near Delcam Senior High School.

A wake was kept for the late musician yesterday, October 28, at Adenta.

Members of the entertainment industry were shocked at the news of the demise of Omanhene Pozo on Wednesday, Sepember 21 this year.

Rapper Omanhene Pozo was first admitted to the 37 Military Hospital in April but discharged and was again admitted in July until his unfortunate demise last month.

The Wasei singer was originally part of one of the very first hiplife groups in Ghana, Nananom, made up of Barima Sydney and Jyoti.

The group achieved success in the 90s and early 2000s by stamping their authority on the local music landscape, particularly when hiplife took off as a genre with hits such as All Right, Nana Kasa, Wo Kyere Wo Ho, among others.

After leaving the group, Pozo pursued a solo career working with Highlife greats such as Awurama Badu, Alhaji K. Frimpong and C. K. Mann.

Omanhene Pozo is best remembered for hit songs such as Kyenkyen Bi Adi Mawo, Wasei, Medofo Adaada Me, among many others.
