Kumasi Asante Kotoko are reported to have slashed their transfer budget for the 2016/17 season as head coach of the team, Micheal Osei, is not interested in signing too many players.

According to media reports from the region, Kotoko are willing to bring in a maximum of five players to replace the exiting ones. In a related development, the Communications Directorate of the team has further refuted claims of the release of some players.

Kotoko are due to kick-start the pre-season later in the month ahead of the G6 tournament, and they are hopeful of bringing some new recruits to beef up the current squad.

Asante Kotoko finished in fifth position on the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League table with 42 points.
