The Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold SC, Kudjoe Fianoo, has revealed that Betway Ghana would be the club’s sponsor in the new season and not take over the club permanently.
In an interview with the Graphic Sports, he said both parties were close to agreeing on a deal which will formally bring on board the online sports betting outfit as their sponsors.
There had been rumours that Betway Ghana was planning to take over Ashantigold on permanent basis but Fianoo, who doubles as the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairman, denied any plans of selling the club.
“We are in talks with Betway to sponsor the club but not to take over permanently as people are speculating. As it stands now we are 75 per cent complete with talks and I can promise you that they will be our sponsors during the new season,” Mr Fianoo explained.
On the club’s preparation ahead of the new season, the Ashgold CEO stressed that they are working tirelessly to transform the team to perform better next season.
