This years Ghana – Japan Yosakoi festival which marked its 15th edition of celebrations, ended at the Police Training and fitness centre last Saturday.

St Paul’s Technical from Kukurantumi in the Eastern region emerged winners of this years Yosakoi dance competition.

Other competing schools included St Roses senior high school-Akwatia, St Peters senior high from Nkwantia. Mary star if the sea school from kasoa in Accra and St Martins from Nsawam.

Other colourful performaces were exhibited by visiting Japanese dancing student-Gome who thrilled the crowd with his break dance moves.

The festival again gave way for Some demonstrations in Cardiac arrest safety, -AED, Kimono dressing and the Onodori dance.

The Yosakoi festival is becoming one of the biggest Japanese festivals gaining roots in Africa and especially Ghana.

The festival which primarily showcases Japanese culture and traditions attracted a huge gathering including visiting the Yosakoi ten group from Japan.
