The Bawku Central constituency executives of the Opposition New Patriotic Party are calling on the national security and the Electoral Commission of Ghana to probe the presidential candidate of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Hassan Ayariga over dual citizenship.

The group accuse Hassan Ayariga of possessing the passports of both  Burkina Faso and Ghana, they further alleged that he used the Burkinabe passport to travel to Germany.

Reacting to Hassan Ayariga recent attack on the integrity of NPP Presidential candidate Nana Akufo Addo at a press conference in Bolgatanga,  Bawku central Constituency deputy secretary, Umar Sanusi Sheriff said, the APC presidential candidate lied to Ghanaians about his own credentials.

“The truth of the matter is Hassan Ayariga was born on 5/09/1971 as indicated on one CV and 1972 on another, travelled to Germany through Burkina-faso. He used a Burkinabe passport with the name Hassan Banse.  He sought asylum with the name Banse in Germany and was later accommodated by Ibrahim Saana (Dapore) together with Imoro Denis all from Bawku.

Saana gave Hassan his ID to work with in Germany; he worked as a cleaner at Ferma Vafuzmit before coming back home in 2001.  He was selling Pizza on the streets of Garmany before he later started importing second hand bicycles and selling them at the Lapaz Station in Accra”.

Meanwhile Communications director of Bawku central  Nurudeen Gumah called on  the security apparatus and the Electoral Commission to investigate and bring Hassan Ayariga to book.

“As a political party and as NPP in the Bawku central constituency where Hassan Ayariga hails from even though we know that he is now a ‘Burkinabe’  this is a man the security agencies should investigate.

we are calling on the Electoral Commission and the security apparatus to investigate  him  well because he is not qualified to lead us as a country,” Mr. Gumah stated.
