Coach Kuuku Dadzie Ex-Stars captain – Kuuku Dadzie

Ex-Black Stars captain, Kuuku Dadzie, says the Black Stars’ qualification to their fourth consecutive FIFA World Cup will justify the confidence reposed in the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as a member of the FIFA Executive Council.

According to Coach Dadzie, the exploits of the Black Stars on the continent and the world stage in recent times contributed a lot in raising the image of Ghana Football, hence boosting the confidence the CAF membership had in the Ghana FA boss.

”The Black Stars must work harder to qualify for the World Cup in Russia because I believe their performances in the world and on the African continent are a reflection of the works of the Ghana FA, hence boosting the chances of Mr Nyantakyi to win the recent election,” Coach Dadzie told the Graphic Sports.

He commended Nyantakyi for his new role and urged the Stars not to let the victory be a fluke by reciprocating it with a World Cup qualification.

On the World Cup qualifier against Uganda in Tamale on Friday, Kuuku Dadzie advised the Stars to be strong psychologically throughout the campaign.

He stressed on the need for the players to disregard the rift between the GFA and the ministry and concentrate on their matches to ensure qualification.

“The impasse can affect the team psychologically and so a lot lies on the shoulders of the coach to psyche the boys and boost their confidence,” he said, adding that “I know we will qualify but It is not going to be easy”.

Coach Dadzie also urged the players, especially the midfielders, to lift their game in order to reduce the work rate on the two lateral defenders who, he said, do not seem to be having their rhythm in recent matches.
