Minister of Youth and Sports, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye says they will not sanction the friendly match against South Africa due to its insignificance.
Nii Lante declared in an interview on Happy FM yesterday that the ministry is unaware of any upcoming game with South Africa and that if they are approached by the Ghana Football Association at the last hour, they will study it internally to see the necessary step
However, the outspoken sports minister has come out boldly today on Nhyira FM to declare that they are not ready to approve the game as they deem it not important for the country.
“The ministry will not sanction the friendly match against South Africa because the country will not get anything from it,” says Nii Lante on Nhyira FM.
“We’ve weighed the pros and cons of the game and I must admit, it will not favour the country in any way.”
