Accra Breweries supports GJA 2016 awards

In support of this year’s Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards ceremony scheduled for 27th August 2016, Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) has presented an amount of thirty thousand Ghana cedis (GHS 30,000.00) in addition to 150 assorted cases of ABL products valued at four thousand Ghana cedis (GHS4,000.00) to the GJA Executives.

Joyce Ahiadorme, Corporate Communications Manager of ABL, presenting the package to the GJA, congratulated journalists for their dedication towards peace in Ghana; a situation that has created an enabling environment for businesses.

Acknowledging the role of the media in the sustenance of businesses, she commented, ‘‘your willingness to shine the light on ABL’s brands and corporate activities has supported our existence these 85 years. I urge you to continue to use your reportage to protect the peace that the nation enjoys so ABL can continue to work unceasingly to refresh, bring sociability, and contribute to the economic growth of Ghana for the next 85 years and beyond.”

Accra Brewery Limited, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary, has contributed to numerous activities in Ghana including capacity development of journalists. The brewery has over the years contributed more than GHS 300,000.00 to the GJA through its annual support for the GJA Awards as well as the World Press Freedom Day.

Commenting on the goodwill gesture of the brewery, the President of the GJA, Mr. Affail Monney indicated that companies like ABL have been backbones to the nation’s economic gains directly through their operations and through their value chains.
