Enactus Radford turns trash into treasure

Enactus Radford is a group of students, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better and more sustainable world.

Their experience does not only give students an opportunity to put to practice the knowledge gained from the classroom but to learn relevant skills that would enable them to be value driven leaders.

It is a well established fact that in the year 2014 over 254 million tons of municipal solid waste was collected. And according to an EPA sources about 85 million tons of that waste was not recycled.

The amount of trash that Africa produces has tripled in the past 50 years. At this rate, we will be producing nearly a billion tons of trash a year by 2060. This is the more reason why we should embrace recycling now than ever.

MOSAIC INSPIRATION: The Mosaic Inspiration project seeks to bring to the fore, the issue of solid waste pollution, particularly empty polythene wrappings, sachet water rubbers, plastics of any form ,cans, glass, steel, paper etc. This chokes our drains, causing damages to our ozone layer and our landfill.

We aim atinspiring young people to be achievers utilizing mosaic artworks that make use of recycled plastic materials and also creating awareness for the need for recycling in our society and community.

People:Inspiring young people with quotes and memorable sayings of great personalities all over the world to spur them on in achieving similar or even greater heights.

Planet: Reducing protecting the environment from the damaging effects of plastic, cans, steel and glass waste material in the country that have caused more damaged that good making know the effects of not recycling to the youth and young ones who are the future leader of our country.

Enactus Radford were adjoined 3rd at the just ended 2016 Enactus Ghana Competition held on 5th and 6th July 2013.
