Champions League race not yet over – Man City boss

A defiant Manuel Pellegrini insisted his Manchester City side will keep fighting for a top four place despite Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

The result means that while City extended the gap between themselves in fourth and United in fifth, they could have swapped league positions going into the final game of the season with the Red Devils playing their game in hand against West Ham on Tuesday.

Pellegrini was understandably disappointed at the outcome of his last game in charge at the Etihad but stressed nothing is decided yet.

He said: “We will wait for Tuesday and it is important for our team that we cannot just depend on what we can do.

“This is not finished, we must keep our heads up about what will happen on Tuesday between West Ham and Manchester United.

“We also have to play the last game on the weekend but on Tuesday we will have another idea over what will happen.”
