Jose Mourinho signs deal to coach Man United – Report

Jose Mourinho has signed a deal to become Manchester United’s next manager, according to reports in the English media.

The former Chelsea boss, who was axed by the Blues in December just months after leading them to the Premier League title, has been heavily linked with the Old Trafford job in recent months.

Now the Sunday Express says Mourinho has finalised an agreement that will see him replace Louis van Gaal in the summer.

The report goes on to claim that the 53-year-old penned a contract last week and his appointment will be announced in the next fortnight.

The revelation of Mourinho’s imminent arrival comes less than 24 hours after Louis van Gaal led United into their first FA Cup final in nine years.

Anthony Martial’s last-gasp winner against Everton on Saturday kept alive United’s hopes of securing silverware this season.

But FA Cup success is unlikely to be enough to save Van Gaal, who has yet to win over the Old Trafford faithful.

United have failed to mount a title challenge this season, while they also crashed out of the Champions League and Europa League in disappointing fashion.

And the Dutchman looks to be on his way out after two years at the helm, with Mourinho poised to replace him.
