GFA charges Hearts of Oak on three counts following crowd violence

The Ghana Football Association has charged Hearts of Oak with 3 counts of violent conduct following the actions of their fans during their 1-3 defeat to Wa All Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium on match day 6.

Supporters of the club registered their anger at a decision made by the referee in about the 20th minute by throwing missiles which included stones bottles and sachets of water at match officials and also the security personnel who tried to clam the situation.

Reports also indicate that the actions of fans prevented the match officials from leaving the stadium after close to 35 minutes following the end of the match.

Police personnel available at the grounds had to drive their vehicle unto the pitch while forming a canopy with their shield in order to usher the match officials to safety.

The Ghana Football Association has given Hearts of Oak until Friday April 8 to respond to the charges.
