Mahama’s address at 59th Inpendence day parade [Full audio]

President John Dramani Mahama on Sunday March 6, 2016 delivered an address at the Black Star Square in Accra to mark Ghana’s 59th independence day anniversary.

March 6 every year is observed to commemorate the day Ghana gained independence from its colonial masters.

Speaking at the programme which is usually characterized with a parade, President Mahama praised Ghana for continuously inspiring other Sub-Saharan African countries to strive for better democratic practices.

President Mahama noted the role Ghana’s independence played in inspiring other nations nations to also seek independence saying, “As the first Sub-Saharan nation to be independent, Ghana inspired other nations to seek independence.”

The theme for the 59th Independence Day celebration was “Investing in the Youth for Ghana’s Transformation.”
