Barclays Bank has outdoored its first model branch in Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa to deliver ultimate customer experience to clients.
According to Simangolwa Shakalima, Director for Consumer Banking at Barclays Bank, the new transformational branch located at Nester Square around Airport City in Accra formed part of the bank’s efforts in setting new standards.
During a media tour of the facility on Wednesday, Mr. Shakalima said Barclays has made remarkable progress, adding that “customers who visit this model branch will not only be delighted with the service but also enjoy some of the world-class technology at the branch.”
Barclays operates in 12 African countries and has been trying to develop a concept that makes banking friendly through the use of technology.
“This is not just about banking; it is actually about customer service,” he added.
There is a self service area, which has Intelligent ATMs (iATMs) that allows anyone to deposit funds into Barclays accounts at the Nester Square branch.
There is also an iPad and Internet Banking Zone that enables customers to access other online services.
Nuifa Agbogedenu, Area Manager at the bank, noted that the branch has private and semi-private booths for customers who want to transact business privately.
