Lawyer Sulley Sambin, legal counsel for embattled Ivorian striker, Ahmed Toure has instructed Kennedy Agyapong to retract his statement that the player is HIV positive.
To the legal practitioner, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Agyapong has this week to withdraw his statement about the player else, he faces stiff legal action.
The lawyer indicated that the MP’s withering comments has the potential of ruining the player’s career, and it will take retraction to restore his (Toure) dented image.
“My client has asked me to take legal action against the MP for his comments and he has eight days to respond, if he fails to do so, I will act accordingly,” said the lawyer.
Mr Agyapong mentioned in his recorded tape tussle with TV host Afia Shwaznegger that the latter had contracted the deadly HIV virus from the former Asante Kotoko man.
Few seasons ago, it was rumoured that the player was a carrier of the disease after failing his medicals for a North African side.
But the player in an interview, rubbished the allegation and promised to back his ‘sanity’ with medical report.
