Reflects Ghana will on Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6 host another historic musical concert dubbed ‘Freedom Concert’ at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi and La Pleasure Beach in Accra respectively.
The event, which forms part of activities lined-up to celebrate this year’s Ghana’s Independence Day, will witness performances from some selected Ghanaian hiplife artistes like Shatta Wale and Samini. The show will also have great hiplife artistes like Obrafour, Tic-Tac, Kwaw Kese, Praye and Lil Wayne.
Put together by Reflects Ghana, the freedom concert is aimed at promoting peace and nationalism amongst Ghanaians which forms the basis or root of the liberation from the colonial masters, hence the attainment of independence in 1957 and to celebrate those who laid down their lives in achieving this dream.
As Ghana goes to the polls this year, Reflects GH holds it at the centre of this year’s ‘Freedom Concert’ to hammer home the need to unite as one nation, one people with a common goal; hence the theme ‘Promoting Peace and Nationalism’.
According to organisers, the concert “is here to stay and will be replicated in the remaining regions in the subsequent years.”
The event last year experienced a huge turn-out of over 25,000 audience at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, representing the biggest ever independence show turn-out recorded in Kumasi, which had Samini, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Kaakie, Guru, Lil Win, Kofi Kinaata and others.
Reflects Ghana promises a better and packed show which will see this year’s attendance outwitting the figure recorded last year.
