The Ghana Handball Association (GHA) has fixed March as the month for its congress, a release signed by its scribe Charles Amofa has said.
It stated that it will be preceded by elective congresses at the regional level aimed at electing new officers to manage the GHA after the term of the current executive expired.
The new team will be in charge for a four-year term.
Consequently, the Secretary General of the GHA, has notified all regional associations to furnish the national secretariat with dates and venues to fix a date for the national event.
It urged regional executives to hold theirs in order to enable the national association hold its election latest March 25.
He pointed out that the swearing into office of regional executives would take place two weeks after the March 25 deadline.
The GHA scribe said “With the exception of the Volta and Upper East regional associations who have elected their respective regional officers and are to be sworn into office very soon, the rest are yet to do so. Regions that fail to elect their executives cannot take part or benefit in any official national handball programme.”
Meanwhile, GHA has expressed gross appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer of Global Cargo and Commodities, Jacob Gbati, when the former called on the latter at its Tema office for supporting the female U-18 national team to take part in the West Africa female tournament in Cote d’Ivoire in December, 2015.
The Association presented some handball paraphernalia to him.
Gbati and his wife expressed appreciation to the association and promised to support the sport to develop in Ghana.
