FRANKIE Osei Assibey has retained his position as president of the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi after emerging victorious in a keenly-contested election.
Mr. Osei Assibey, who is CEO and Chairman of Merchant Oil Ghana Ltd and Merchant Logistics Ltd, polled 51 votes as against 40, polled by Martin Poku.
With the victory, Mr. Osei Assibey, will steer the affairs of the club, whose life Patron is Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene for one-year.
Other elected members are Margaret Oppong, Lady Captain, Vivian Dick, Lady Vice Captain and Isaac Simson, Bar Member.
The rest are M. Donkor-Baah, Captain, Yaw Brobbey, House Member, Edwin Dand, Treasurer, M. Dumfeh, Secretary and Akwasi Appiah, Vice Captain.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Osei Assibey, an astute oil trader, called for peace, unity and the support of all members to lead the club to affluence.
The Royal Golf Club Captain also urged members of the club to put the results of the elections behind them and collaborate to move forward.
Mr. Osei Assibey was one-time the local representative of Mocoh Energy International and Local representative of West Minister Oil and Gas Ltd.
He assured that his administration would implement new policies in order to make Royal Golf Club the envy of all in the coming months.
