The Laterbiokorshie 1A Primary School has won the maiden edition of the Zincovit Under-13 Male Football Tournament.
The two-day tournament, which was organised by Varaderos Eventz Solutiontz, was sponsored by Indus pharmaceuticals and supported by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The tournament, which was very entertaining had Alajo 3&4 primary school, St Francis Xavier, Answura-deen and Laterbiokorshie 1A Primary School making it to the semi-finals.
Laterbiokorshie 1A booked their ticket to the final by beating Answura-deen 3-2 on penalties after a goalless drawn game to meet St Francis Xavier primary who had earlier on beaten Alajo 3&4 primary to advance to the finals.
Laterbiokorshie 1A school made their intentions clear early on in the first half by going a goal up before finishing the day with a 2nd goal from the spot kick after their danger man Mawuko Andrews was brought down in the 18-yard box.
Mr V. Ravichandran Director of Indus Pharmaceuticals thanked the various schools and the P.E teachers for making the tournament a successful one and pledged their support to developing football in the primary schools.
Mr Maxwell Ampofo Chief Executive Officer thanked the Ghana Education Services and Indus Ghana producers of Zincovit for their sponsorship and support and promised to deliver textbooks and sports infrastructure to all participating schools.
The winning school took home Gold medals and a cash prize of GH¢ 3000 with the runner up and second runner up schools going home with silver and bronze medals with cash prizes of GH¢ 2000 and GH¢ 1500 respectively.
