Ghana is participating in a 5-day Harvard National Model UN conference ongoing in Boston, Massachusetts from February 9-14th, 2016.

Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the United Nations Organisation. Students gather in committees such as the General Assembly or the Economic and Social Council, to represent a particular member nation of the UN, and work towards finding diplomatic solutions to critical issues that the world faces today.

Every year, Life Link Friendship Schools, organizes series of Model UN programs for Junior High School, High School and Tertiary to train future diplomats, teaching them about global issues, negotiation skills, leadership and crisis resolution.

Ghana’s official delegation, led by the Executive Director of Life Link Friendship Schools, Mr. Ernest Gyimah-Danquah said: “By hosting a successful edition of our own Life-link Tertiary Model UN last year, the delegation is ready to reach higher heights at a platform as prestigious as Harvard”.

“Our delegate’s outstanding performance in previous conferences, winning awards for clarity of thought, knowledge of the diplomatic craft and solid preparation has laid the foundation for this year’s team. Being Ghana’s only representatives at that platform, we look forward to winning more awards”, he added.

This year’s edition will be Life-link Ghana’s third participation in the Harvard National MUN with students from tertiary institutions including University of Ghana, KNUST, Ghana Institute of Journalism, Regent University, Valley View University, University pf Mines and Technology and Takoradi Polytechnic.

The program selects youth to represent Ghana at different youth leadership sessions in New York, Washington DC, Harvard, Rome, Osaka among others.
