Former Ghana international Anthony Baffoe says he is excited ahead of the start of the Ghana Premier League season.

The 2015/2016 Premier League season is just six days away with clubs putting final touches to their game.

Champions AshGold will kick start their defence of the league title at home against Medeama, Asante Kotoko will play against West Africa Football Academy while Hearts of Oak will welcome New Edubiase to the Accra Sports Stadium.

Fans are itching and counting the days as the four months wait for domestic football finally comes to an end and Anthony Baffoe says the new season will give fans something to cheer but he stressed on the need for their safety at the grounds.

“I am happy that the league will finally start. I was in Dawu on Sunday to watch Dreams and Hearts of Oak and the stadium was filled to capacity,” Baffoe told Citi Sports in an interview on Monday.

“But it is very important we place emphasis on security and match organization.

“I can see that people are itching for the Premier League season and I hope we have improved attendances at the various match venues.”
