Ghana’s U17 side will start their camping today (Sunday) for the 2017 African U17 African Championship qualifiers after coach Paa Kwesi Fabin selected 35 players.

The Black Starlets are preparing for the first round qualifier against Liberia in June, and the team will start camping in earnest to be fully prepared for the task ahead.

Fabin named a final list of 35 players on Saturday for the Black Starlets after combing the country for talents to make up the squad for this year.

The selected players report at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Sunday by 6pm.

Training will begin on Monday morning, but the players will be put through various medical tests while a strong team is being formed.

The selected 35 youngsters will form the nucleus of the National U-17 male team subject to they passing all medical tests.

The final list of the recruitment was decided after a nationwide tour to identify talented youngsters into the next Black Starlets squad.

The Technical team also invited and accessed players from various football academies as well as some players who excelled at the Airtel Rising Stars competition.
